This article is review of a book published in 1962 titled Richard Keith Call: Southern Unionist by Herbert Doherty, Jr. The review provides a brief summary of the biography, concluding that when the Civil War came, Call opposed secession. This article, however, under-emphasizes Call's racist beliefs about enslaved Africans and indigenous people.
